This site is dedicated to the memory of Doug.
Doug was born in Strood, Kent on April 28, 1920. He was a WW2 Spitfire Mechanic, hot metal compositor, Photographer, Valuer, and Glider Pilot. AKA the ‘Daffodil Man’.
He was much loved and will always be remembered by his only son David, family and friends.

I'm using the DIY skills you taught me Dad, (among many others things) and remembering you on this bright sunny that you would've loved, one year on from the day you were taken from us.

It was a privilege to meet Doug when we visited David and Lucy and his Grand children over the the New Year 2004.
We found Doug to be a very happy and kind gentle man.
